I just noticed Indian Institute of Information Technology, Sonepat was deleted due to copyright problems on 7 September 2020. Is it possible that the article included a core which could be kept and the rest could be revdeled? I see that I moved it in 2018 so I thought it might have been OK back then. --Muhandes (talk) 10:36, 22 September 2020 (UTC)
- Muhandes, The entire was almost entirely copied, but I could restore the first sentence, refs, and infobox. Would you like that? Moneytrees🏝️Talk🌴Help out at CCI! 18:27, 22 September 2020 (UTC)

Deletion of List of Today Is the Day members
Whoops... I nommed List of Today Is the Day members for nomination per G12, though have just been informed by the creator that I made a careless mistake. The bbc page actually cites Wikipedia as the information transcript. I'd appreciate it if you could restore the article. Thanks, WikiMacaroonsCinnamon? 18:05, 24 September 2020 (UTC)

Thanks for deleting that Category
The two editors who were put into that Cat now have the red-link at the bottom of their user/user talk. Can those redlinks be rev-del'ed or whatever? Thanks, Shearonink (talk) 04:59, 12 October 2020 (UTC)
- Shearonink, I've reverted them, although I don't think they rise to the level of a revdel; I would consider "bad conduct" a personal attack but I don't think it's egregious enough to expunge from the history. Beyblade Burst
The summary for Burst Surge was added on 19:37, 14 August 2020. It was removed one month later for who knows why, but I restored it since was an original written one and nobody else was fill in the empty section. Plus, if read info section on the page that I didn't copyright from more accurately, it says (Source: Wikipedia). So they copied from us. SpectresWrath (talk) 19:05, 13 October 2020 (UTC)
- SpectresWrath, Sorry for the hassle, your edit was flagged as a potential violation and didn't appear to be a mirror upon first glance. To avoid that happening in the future, I would recommend saying in the edit summary where you got the text from, especially if it's a plot summary; for whatever reason those aren't crawled as often as other wikipedia articles. Hi there,
You might have deleted an article Chiratae Ventures with a reasoning saying that it is violative of Copyrights. Please can you provide some additional details? Seems like you have a linked to a site that is mirroring wiki content. But, I would need more details. Thanks.

Copyright of statue plaques
Hey. I have a question and was told you may be able to advise? I nominated Statue of Edward Colston for GA a few months ago, it was recently quickfailed for copyvio. CVDetector has a high %, but the bulk of it is the two plaques we quote in the "Rewording the plaque" section (the rest, a smaller number, is a couple of quotes from the reactions section). Aside from that, CVD doesn't seem to flag anything. As far as I know, the plaques were a collaborative effort by unconnected organisations/universities, to be applied to the statue following local government approval, so I dunno who would hold copyright, if anyone? Various media sources cover it, and have the exact text, but I don't think any of them will be holding the copyright, unless it's licensed or something? I can't find much on what copyright law may or may not be applicable to plaque wordings, and it feels like a bit of an intricate application of copyright law, but could you advise if that is indeed a copyvio or not? I figure it's better to straighten the issue out before I nominate it again, if I do... Thanks! ProcrastinatingReader (talk) 00:16, 19 October 2020 (UTC)
- ProcrastinatingReader, That shouldn't have been quickfailed, the "violations" are acceptable quotes. If the issue is brought up again when re-noming, link here to where me, an expert in copyvio, says there are no violations. Moneytrees🏝️Talk🌴Help out at CCI! 16:00, 19 October 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks Moneytrees :). I've renominated it. ProcrastinatingReader (talk) 16:54, 19 October 2020 (UTC)
Hi Moneytrees. I have an issue reviewing Sociedad Deportiva Compostela (1962-2006) (3 edits): (+8282)(+475) because what I did was moved text already edited from SD Compostela to Sociedad Deportiva Compostela (1962-2006) (Revision as of 11:29, 4 October 2018) -an existing team and a defunct team-, and you explained to me that is a violation (I didn't know at the time). But, as the articles were merged later on by another user, what should I do ?. Thanks--Banderas (talk) 08:04, 21 October 2020 (UTC)
- Banderas, Since it was redirected, there's nothing to do. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask here.Moneytrees🏝️Talk🌴Help out at CCI! 16:06, 21 October 2020 (UTC)
Thank you again, Moneytrees. I have another issue. In some articles, about sailing competitions, I used text from the competition's rules -the trophy´s deed of gift-, which I understand is a legal document and has no copyrights, but I see you have deleted Vieri Lasinio Di Castelvero Trophy created by me under (G12: Unambiguous copyright infringement: http://snipe.org/images/2013/2013Vieri%20Lasinio%20Di%20Castelvero%20Trophy.pdf) where that pdf is the Deed of Gift, published here. Are deeds of gift copyrighted texts ?. --Banderas (talk) 16:31, 21 October 2020 (UTC)
- Banderas, The copyright of stuff like federal judicial decisions and rulings are in public domain and thus ok to copy, but when it comes to other legal letters like the deed it's not so clear. I initially hesitated deleting because I though it might be in public domain, but I couldn't find anything saying deeds of gift are so I decided to be on the safe side and delete it. In general, the rule is that you assume something is copyrighted if you cannot find anything saying whether it is or isn't. Moneytrees🏝️Talk🌴Help out at CCI! 17:37, 21 October 2020 (UTC)
I saw some parts of the Deed of Gift of the America's Cup written on the article, but, anyhow, apart fron the text, was it necessary to delete the list of champions ? those being facts and as facts cannot be copyrighted, a list of results, scores, medallists, etc, can be copyrighted ? --Banderas (talk) 20:25, 21 October 2020 (UTC)
- Banderas, Please slow down a bit with CCI; some of your markings are incorrect. While marking edits like this as no violation are ok as they are mostly lists with very little prose, articles where there is significant prose aside from the list like here shouldn't be marked as no violation. Moneytrees🏝️Talk🌴Help out at CCI! 17:44, 21 October 2020 (UTC)
- I hadn't seen that wikisource page. Everything on wikisource needs to be in public domain/under a free license, so I'll restore the page with a pd tag Moneytrees🏝️Talk🌴Help out at CCI! 02:49, 22 October 2020 (UTC)
I reviewed the prose also and found no violation. I will stop the reviewing if I'm doing it wrong. I don´t want to make more mistakes and have more problems. I tried to help solving them, sorry.--Banderas (talk) 20:25, 21 October 2020 (UTC)
- Banderas, Oh, then in that case it's not your fault.... I didn't tell you this because I didn't think it'd be a problem, but earwig works off of links within the articles. If those links happen to be dead, then earwig won't find anything... for example, http://snipespain.es/portal/images/stories/WEB/Libro_Reglas_2005-2008/01-Constitucion.pdf is currently dead as it just goes to an error page. Using the Internet Archive, I can find an older version of the page with earwig readable text, which is how I found the violation in that case. There's an option to fix dead links in the page history; Click on the "View History" tab, then click "Fix dead links", an option at the end of the "External tools:" bar. You'll asked to sign into metawiki, and then be brought to a page that looks like this, where you check off the "Add archives to all non-dead references (Optional)" and then click "Analyze". An edit will be made on your behalf, and then you can scan using earwig without the worries of missing a dead reference. Moneytrees🏝️Talk🌴Help out at CCI! 02:46, 22 October 2020 (UTC)
- Banderas, and if you come across anymore deeds, insert this public domain template into the ref for attribution, like I do here. Moneytrees🏝️Talk🌴Help out at CCI! 02:52, 22 October 2020 (UTC)
Thanks again, Moneytrees. I am very limited on my technical knowledge. I'm a retired person who never saw a computer until many years after college. I'll try to the best of my knowledge. Now, should I keep checking my CCI ? I'm not sure if by "slow down" you mean I'm reviewing too fast or not adequatebly. I only want to edit in good faith and help for the good of the encyclopedia.--Banderas (talk) 08:41, 22 October 2020 (UTC)
- Banderas, Maybe slow down isn't the right word. Why don't you work on the easier stuff near the bottom (most of those are trivial edits) and I work on the more difficult things near the top? Moneytrees🏝️Talk🌴Help out at CCI! 19:51, 22 October 2020 (UTC)
Hi Moneytrees, the passage you just reverted was another copyright violation by the editor; see [2]. Needs rev/deletion. Thanks, 2601:188:180:B8E0:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63 (talk) 03:56, 27 October 2020 (UTC)

Coercing Enticing some fresh blood into CCI
Hi there! I included a call for help with this CCI in the November WP:MED newsletter with mild success. My focus tends to wander between articles and administration, so I can't promise to always have my finger on the pulse of CCI. But if you see science-themed pages in a CCI list, feel free to ping me and hopefully I can scrounge up some topic-interested editors who could help. My dream is to get more people to solve a small copyright issue in their field of interest, and then maybe dip their toes more into copyright over time... We'll see if it ever works... Anyway, I hope you're staying well during these crazy times! Ajpolino (talk) 08:40, 19 November 2020 (UTC)
- Ajpolino, thanks a lot for doing getting others to join in. It's alright if you can't always edit in the area, but getting people more knowledgeable about the area in general is something I also aim to do. The science based CCIs I can think off the top of my head are the nasty, massive Wikipedia:Contributor copyright investigations/DrMicro and the smaller but still grating Wikipedia:Contributor copyright investigations/Dhollm. Received a notification of sockpuppetry
Hi, I just observed a notification of "sockpuppetry" on my account, where you have linked my Wikipedia account with some other accounts. I do not identify them and fail to understand why I am listed there.
Also, you have mentioned, "feel free to offer your own evidence or to submit comments that you wish to be considered by the Wikipedia administrator who decides the result of the investigation".
Can you please tell me how and what evidence do you require for clearing me off this investigation?
Thanks.

- Bdub 604, I had read it and was actually planning on telling you about it, but I'm pretty sure that we can't use it because google does say, (in at least my eyes) what their Creative commons license is here: https://www.google.com/permissions/geoguidelines/ ; "These guidelines are for non-commercial use", we can't use NC content. Although attribution was provided, it seems like it wouldn't matter since it's NC. Despite all those words it's not too clear, so I deleted it to be on the safe side.
